Introduction

Ceramic fiber modules — also called folded blocks or precast blocks — are prefabricated furnace lining units made by folding or layering ceramic fiber blanket into a dense, self-supporting package and securing it with a stainless or heat-resistant steel anchor system embedded in the cold face. The module installs by stud-welding the anchor to the furnace shell, making large furnace linings a straightforward bolt-in operation rather than a skilled-craftsman project.

Nengcheng's NC ceramic fiber modules are manufactured on dedicated pressing equipment that ensures precise outer dimensions and consistent compressed density across the hot face. The standard M-type anchor uses high-quality heat-resistant steel forgings welded to a butterfly retaining plate, distributing load across a larger footprint and maintaining grip even when the cold-face steel softens at elevated shell temperatures.

Composite precast blocks extend the concept further: these units combine an alumina silicate or mullite fiber core with a castable or board hot-face cap, allowing the module system to be used in applications where direct flame impingement, high gas velocity, or abrasive fly ash would otherwise erode a plain blanket face.
